Ford Mustang GTD

Ford Mustang GTD: The Most Extreme Mustang Ever Built

There are performance cars. There are supercars. And then there is the Ford Mustang GTD — a machine so extreme, so uncompromising, and so audacious in its ambition that it genuinely rewrites what the Mustang name is capable of achieving. This is not a fast Mustang. This is Ford’s answer to Porsche, Ferrari, and every European supercar manufacturer that ever doubted an American badge could compete at the very top.

Born From Racing, Built for the Road

The GTD didn’t begin life in a boardroom. It was conceived after hours by a handful of Ford engineers working in an anonymous storage garage at Ford’s Michigan headquarters — the goal being to create a race car for the road rather than a road car for the track. Developed in partnership with Multimatic, the same engineering firm behind the Le Mans-winning Ford GT, the Mustang GTD is effectively a road-legal version of the Mustang GT3 race car.

804bhp. 202mph. Nürburgring Record.

The numbers are staggering. The GTD’s dry-sumped 5.2-litre supercharged V8 produces 804bhp and 664lb ft of torque, redlining at 7,650rpm on the way to a top speed of 202mph — making it Ford’s most powerful production car in history. Paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transaxle mounted at the rear for near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution, the GTD handles as brilliantly as it accelerates.

On 9th April 2025, the Mustang GTD completed the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6 minutes and 52.072 seconds — the fastest ever lap by an American production car around the famous circuit, putting it in the company of Lamborghini, Porsche, and Mercedes-AMG’s finest.

Track Technology on Public Roads

The GTD’s engineering reads like a motorsport specification sheet. Carbon fibre body panels, a dual ride height systemthat drops the car 40mm at the touch of a button for track use, active aerodynamics, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, and Multimatic’s race-derived ASV adaptive dampers all feature as standard.

Inside, hand-tailored RECARO seats, a 13.2-inch touchscreen with Unreal Engine-powered GTD-specific graphics, and paddle shifters machined from titanium salvaged from retired F-22 fighter jets create a cockpit that is simultaneously purposeful and extraordinary.

Exclusivity at £315,000

UK pricing starts from £315,000 — placing the GTD well above the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and in the company of the Ferrari 296 GTB. Production is strictly limited, and demand has vastly outstripped supply since applications opened.
